Lifestyle of Prayer: God’s Greatness!

“A Lifestyle of Prayer”

This week’s prayer focus: God’s Greatness!

“I will proclaim the name of the LORD.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!”
Deuteronomy 32:3

This week’s prayer emphasis will focus on the “greatness of our God!”  I appreciate the foundation that was built in my life by my parents as one of my earliest memories is of reciting, “God is great. God is good.  Let us thank Him for this food.”  To be honest, it didn’t mean a lot to me as a prayer in those early years but it did plant deep within me the truth of God’s greatness and His goodness — as well as a gratefulness for His provision.  How much we talk, or don’t talk, about the Lord our God probably says more about our view of His greatness than we might care to admit.  As you pray this week, ask God to fill you with a fuller awareness of His greatness.  Pray that you would boldly share with others about God’s greatness.  Pray for the desire to honor God for His greatness rather than seek that greatness for yourself.  Praise God for the many aspects of His greatness as you consider how He has chosen to use it for mankind’s good — including your goodPray for a spirit of unity within your church congregation and within the body of Christ as a whole.  Pray each day for the individuals of your congregation and for the body of Christ as a whole.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

Please pray each day for God to help you know, and share, His greatness.
